Being of service to the Fellowship is an important part of our recovery. It’s a powerful way to deepen our understanding of the principles, connect with others, and give back what was freely given to us. No matter how much experience you have, there is always something to do—and always something new to learn.
If you’re new to CA, or not currently involved in service, getting involved can be a great next step. Service helps us feel part of the Fellowship, build confidence, and strengthen our recovery—often in ways we don’t expect. There’s no need to have prior experience; willingness is all that’s required.
There are many different service opportunities available. At Group level, this can be as simple as helping to set up or close down a meeting, making tea and coffee, looking after the group’s literature, or representing the group at service meetings. At District level, service might include carrying the message into prisons or treatment centres, helping the public and professionals understand that Cocaine Anonymous is here, or even being part of a team planning the next local convention.
If you’re already involved in service and would like to know more about the committee you’re serving on, you can explore the latest committee guidelines on the Cocaine Anonymous World Services website.
They’re a helpful resource for understanding roles, responsibilities, and how we work together in unity and purpose.
